How Our $99 Diagnostic Works
Our residential diagnostic is a flat $99. A technician comes out, tests the system end to end, and finds the actual fault. You get the repair price before any work starts, and nothing happens until you say go.
The $99 covers the diagnosis itself. It is a standalone fee, not a deposit toward the repair, and we tell you that up front so there are no surprises on the invoice.
If the system turns out to be past saving, we will say so plainly and price a replacement instead of selling you a repair that buys you six weeks.
What Breaks Most in a Katy Summer
Your air conditioner runs six months straight in this climate, and the failures are fairly predictable. Some common repairs we find in West Houston:
Capacitors
The outdoor unit hums but the fan does not spin, or the compressor struggles to start. Heat kills capacitors, and Katy attics and condenser pads deliver plenty of it.
Contactors
Pitted or welded contacts stop the outdoor unit from engaging. Cheap part, and easy to catch during air conditioning service before it strands you.
Clogged Condensate Drains
The system shuts down on a float switch, or worse, you find water staining a ceiling. Slab-on-grade homes with attic air handlers see this constantly.
Past those, we regularly handle refrigerant leaks, failed blower motors, frozen evaporator coils, bad control boards, and thermostat wiring faults.
Repair or Replace
We get asked this on nearly every older system, so here is how we actually think about it.
Under 10 years old and the repair is a few hundred dollars, fix it. That system has life left. Over 12 years old, on R-22 refrigerant, or facing a compressor or coil replacement, the math usually favors a new system. R-22 is no longer produced, which makes a refrigerant-heavy repair expensive, temporary and expensive on the energy bill. A failed compressor on a system that age is often more than half the cost of replacing the whole thing. Somewhere in between, we lay out both numbers and let you decide.
Financing is available when replacement is genuinely the right call, and we will size the new system to your home rather than matching whatever tonnage the last contractor guessed at.
