Honest diagnostics, priced before we knock
Energy Corridor is two housing markets sitting on the same streets, and the equipment could not be more different.
Two things define HVAC work in the Energy Corridor, and neither shows up in generic Houston advice.
The first is water. A large number of homes in and around the Addicks and Barker reservoir pools took water in 2017, and equipment was replaced under difficult conditions in the months after. We still find the consequences: outdoor units sitting on hastily poured pads, air handlers relocated to attics that were not really suited for them, line sets run the short way rather than the right way, and warranty paperwork nobody can locate. If your system was replaced in 2017 or 2018, it is worth having someone look at how it was installed rather than just whether it runs.
The second is age. Nottingham Forest, Wilchester, and the neighborhoods off Briar Forest were built in the 1960s and 1970s, with original duct in attics that were designed for equipment half the size of what people install now. We find undersized returns constantly here, and an undersized return will choke a brand new high-efficiency system into performing like a builder-grade one. Mature oaks add coil fouling on top of it. Getting the return right is usually the highest-value thing we do in these homes.

What are your hours in Energy Corridor?
We answer the phone Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, and Saturday from 8am to 12pm. Online booking is open 24/7, so if your AC quits at 11pm you can put yourself on the schedule and we will confirm first thing. No-cool calls get priority, and we are based in Katy, so we are not driving in from across Houston to reach you.

My system was replaced after Harvey. Should I have it looked at?
It is worth a visit. A lot of equipment in the Energy Corridor was replaced quickly in 2017 and 2018 under real pressure, and we regularly find installations that work but were compromised: pads poured without proper level, air handlers relocated into attics without adequate access or drainage, line sets routed for speed, and missing warranty registration. None of that necessarily means the system is failing. It does mean it may not be delivering what you paid for, and small corrections now are cheaper than a premature replacement.

I have two systems. Do I pay for two service calls?
No. One diagnostic covers the visit at $99 no matter how many systems you have. Maintenance is priced per system, at $109 for the first and $59 for each additional. Two and three system homes are common in larger floor plans, so we quote both systems in one trip.

My AC is 15 years old. Repair it or replace it?
It depends more on the specific failure than the age. A capacitor or contactor on a 15-year-old system is worth fixing. A failed compressor or a leaking evaporator coil usually is not. In the Energy Corridor that call comes up constantly where the builder systems were replaced many years ago and are now at end of life.

Do you charge for a replacement or upgrade estimate?
